Judy, I am so honored you chose my technique challenge to redo today.
this was a real quickie. I liked the idea, but my follow-through left something to be desired!
Our dgs John is visiting for the week, so I'll be spending a lot of time with him. this morning we made Belgian waffles for breakfast. He's already been in the hot tub and pool, and is playing a video game. It's only 10:30, and he got up at 8!! Have a great day.

Sounds as if you have a full time ahead this week - enjoy it! I've been trying to figure out the difference between Belgian and normal waffles, actually. The only conclusion I came to was that in my recipes, the difference was that for normal ones I separate the eggs and whisk the whites, which I didn't for the recipe that stated it was for Belgian ones.
I think this turned out great, I like the way the stars are striped.

A little warm for the hot tub today. That won't stop my Desmond either, though.
Your fabulous flag card is so striking, Anne! As a Flag Day baby, I can't resist a flag.
